SOMERSET RACE DETAILS
To be eligible to participate, participants must be Bermudians or Residents of Bermuda
six (6) months before race day.​
Race Start: 8:30am
General Details
-
This event will be chip-timed. Timing chips will be attached to the back of your race bib.
-
Participants will be responsible for any cost incurred to replace lost bib/chip.
-
Race Numbers must be worn on the FRONT of shirt / vest during the entire race.
-
Truck carrying runners’ bags will leave the start line at 8:15a.m. sharp. (The Derby will not be held responsible for valuable items, etc.)
-
Runners are responsible for collecting belongings after crossing the Finish Line.
-
Participants running the full half-marathon are not permitted to participate in the relay division of this event.
-
The minimum age is 16 years old on race day.
-
No strollers or pets are permitted on the race course.
-
Medical details must be filled out on the back of the race number issued to you.

A commemorative medal will be awarded to the finishers.

ENTRY FEE does not include the cost of the ferry and is NON-REFUNDABLE & NON-TRANSFERABLE.
Start Line - Somerset
-
Ferry to ‘Start Line’ leaves promptly at 7:00 a.m. from Albuoy’s Point to Watford Bridge, Somerset.​
-
South Shore and Middle Road junction will close promptly at 7:30 a.m. Vehicles will not be allowed to proceed to Somerset after this time.
-
Changing / Rest Rooms are available at Somerset Cricket Club & Warren Simmons Field (The Royal Navy Field).​
TRANSPORTATION
-
Tickets for The Official Derby Ferry can be purchased at the time of online registration only. Government-issued tickets or tokens will not be accepted.

Ferry to start will depart promptly at 7:00am.
RELAY
-
Each Team will be issued 1 (one) race chip which will be attached to a baton that must be passed at each leg and carried from start to finish.

BATONS WILL BE HANDED OUT AT THE START LINE AFTER THE HALF MARATHON STARTS AT 8:30am.

Relay Race starts at 8:40am. Race Numbers must be worn on the FRONT of shirt / vest during the entire race.

Bib labelled ‘RELAY’ must be worn on the BACK of shirt / vest during the entire race.
-
Each relay team will include 2 or 4 participants. The minimum age is 12 years (as of race day).

COURSE DETAILS
SOMERSET > PEMBROKE
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The race starts on Somerset Road, Sandys approximately 50 meters west of the junction of School Lane.

Proceed along Somerset Road, Middle Road to Burnt House Hill, Warwick.
​​
-
Proceed up Burnt House Hill, along Harbour Road, The Lane, Crow Lane, East Broadway, and Front Street to Queen Street.
​​

Proceed up Queen Street turning right onto Church Street to King Street.
​
-
Turn left at King Street and proceed to Victoria Street.
​
-
Turn left at Victoria Street and proceed to Cedar Avenue.
​
-
Turn right at Cedar Avenue and proceed to Marsh Folly Road.
​
-
Turn right at Marsh Folly Road and proceed to Dutton Avenue.
​
-
Turn right at Dutton Avenue and follow the directions to the Finish Line.
WATER STATIONS
There are 9 official refreshment stations on the course. They will provide fresh water and a sports drink for all participants.
Note: The use of unofficial water stations is at your own risk. There will be no energy gels on the course.
Runners are encouraged to bring their own.

5. Approx 7.50 miles Just pass Longford Hill 6. Approx 8.50 miles at Newstead
7. Approx 10.50 miles at Aberfeldy Nurseries
8. Approx 11.50 miles at The Bermuda Library, Queen Street
9. Approx 12.50 miles at Cedar Avenue
Refreshments will be provided at the finish line.
Join us at the finish line zone refreshments and for the prize presentation beginning at 10:30am!
RELAY EXCHANGE

Leg 1: Main Road Somerset, Middle Road Southampton (Approx. 4.75 miles)​​

Leg 2: Between mile 4 & 5, Southampton Post Office, Southampton (Approx. 3 miles)

​​Leg 3: 2-Person relay change-over between mile 7 & 8, Harbour Road, Tamarind Vale, Warwick (Approx. 2.25 miles) ​​

Leg 4: Mile 10, Red Hole, Lovers Lane, Harbour Road, Paget (Approx. 3.25 miles)
FINISH Court Street, Pembroke​​. There will be a Derby Relay sign at the start of each leg.
